Building Safety Manager – Interim Project Role – Social Housing – Halifax, West Yorkshire – £625 per day

We are recruiting for an experienced Building Safety Manager to support a Social Housing organisation through a critical period of building safety improvement and compliance delivery across high rise residential stock West Yorkshire.

This Building Safety Manager role is not a standard operational compliance position. The organisation requires an interim specialist to lead a live programme of building safety work, strengthen compliance assurance, review existing safety processes and support the ongoing delivery of Building Safety Act obligations across multiple high risk buildings.

If you are an experienced Building Safety Manager who has delivered complex building safety projects within Social Housing, this is a high profile interim assignment paying £625 per day.

The project

As Building Safety Manager, you will lead a programme of building safety and fire safety compliance work across occupied residential buildings. The Building Safety Manager will review current compliance arrangements, strengthen safety case management processes and ensure the organisation remains fully aligned with Building Safety Act requirements.

The successful Building Safety Manager will also work closely with contractors, consultants and residents, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated and communicated effectively.

Key Responsibilities for the Building Safety Manager role

• Lead delivery of a live building safety improvement programme

• Review and strengthen safety case and compliance processes

• Oversee inspections, audits and remediation tracking across high rise buildings

• Ensure compliance with Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Regulations

• Support resident engagement and building safety communication

• Manage contractors and specialist consultants delivering compliance works

• Identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions

• Provide assurance reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders

About you

• Proven experience operating as a Building Safety Manager within Social Housing

• Strong experience delivering project based building safety or fire safety programmes

• Detailed understanding of Building Safety Act requirements and regulatory frameworks

• Experience managing high rise residential compliance and safety cases

• Strong stakeholder management and contractor oversight experience

• Able to operate strategically while remaining hands on operationally
