Ongoing Contract

Up to £350 p/d PAYE + 36 days leave | £475.72 p/d Umbrella DOE

This is your chance to be part of one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Europe — a multi-billion-pound nuclear new build set to power millions of homes for generations.

We’re looking for experienced Welding Inspectors / Field Engineers to join a high-performing Quality Surveillance team on site in Somerset.

If you’ve worked on major projects across Energy, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Pharma, Water, or Industrial Construction — and understand welding from a metallurgy, NDT and standards perspective — this is your opportunity to step into a truly safety-critical engineering environment.

As a Field Engineer – Welding Inspector, you will:

• Carry out continuous, planned and notified surveillance of contractor activities

• Ensure works align with Quality Control Plans and project specifications

• Identify, raise and manage non-conformances (NCRs)

• Review ITPs, inspection records and quality documentation

• Drive quality improvements and KPI performance

• Ensure strict adherence to design and approval processes (no informal field decisions)

• Champion and embed nuclear safety culture on site

• Collaborate with construction, engineering and quality teams

You’ll act as the technical conscience of welding quality across the project.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Structural steel

• Pressure systems

• Reinforcement prefabrication

• Mechanical & civil interfaces

• Safety-critical fabrication environments

Spot issues early. Ask the right questions. Protect quality before problems arise.

About You

We’re keen to speak with professionals who have:

• Proven experience in welding inspection on major infrastructure / industrial projects

• Strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy and NDT methods

• Knowledge of industry codes such as RCC-M, ASME, BS EN

• Experience with ITPs, quality records and compliance documentation

• Background working in highly regulated / safety-critical environments

Qualifications

• CSWIP 3.1 (or equivalent) – highly desirable

• CSWIP 3.2 / IWS – advantageous

• PCN / NDT certifications – beneficial

• Mechanical / Materials / Welding background

If you’re a skilled Welding Inspector ready to step into a high-impact, safety-critical role, we want to hear from you.
