Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer

Saffron Walden

£50,000 to £55,000 + Benefits

Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week)


Key Responsibilities

  • Reactive and planned maintenance across production equipment and site systems.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding.
  • Supporting equipment reliability and uptime improvements.
  • Working across automated machinery, conveyors, motors, drives, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems.
  • PLC fault finding and minor modifications where required.
  • Supporting process improvements and equipment upgrades.
  • Assisting with new equipment integration and commissioning.
  • Working closely with operations and engineering teams.
  • Taking ownership of equipment performance within your area.


Key Requirements

  • Multi-skilled engineering experience within manufacturing.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding capability.
  • Experience supporting automated production equipment.
  • Exposure to PLC-controlled machinery (Siemens ideal).
  • Hands-on engineering mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Experience in FMCG, food, pharma, packaging, medical devices, or process manufacturing would be beneficial.
