Job Title: Mechanical Plant Engineer
Location: Tamworth
Type: Permanent
Shifts: Monday – Friday 07:00 – 16:00, with potential for overtime
SRG are currently recruiting for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a successful and growing client based in Tamworth.
This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining diagnosing and improving pant machinery to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operations. As the Mechanical Maintenance/ Plant Engineer, you will play a key role in minimising downtime and driving continuous improvement.
This role provides clear progression pathways, supported by ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Key responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Maintain, diagnose and repair plant equipment and machinery
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and fault finding
- Manage spare parts stock
- Support design and development of new equipment
- Support production by ensuring all equipment is fully operational.
Criteria:
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a similar position
- Strong mechanical engineering skills
- IOSH or NEBOSH (desirable)
- Welding to BS 4872-1 standard (desirable)
- IPAF licence or willingness to obtain (desirable)
- Hydraulics training (BFPA / NFPC) (desirable)
