Our main purpose is to protect and defend. We provide rapid integrated solutions for detection, coordination, fire control, engagement and support. We cover three sectors: Surface Attack & Air Defence (UK), Air Defence (International) and Air Operations & Services as well as Space.


Systems Safety Engineer

Summary

This is a key role within Thales to ensure that we design and deliver products that can be certified to international standards and can be safely used by our Customers.


The role plans and manages the safety related activities within bids and projects to ensure the end product risk has been reduced so far as is reasonably practicable. It will lead and conduct the hazard analysis activities and development of safety & environmental requirements for IAS products throughout their lifecycle.


It will also provide direction to the design teams for the implementation of requirements and design features to provide the necessary safety assurance and safety argument.

Security Clearance Requirement:

Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.


To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
