Swift Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and community-focused secondary school in Merton to recruit a confident and dedicated Cover English Teacher from 12th June until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to continue into September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an adaptable English specialist who is committed to delivering engaging lessons, maintaining strong classroom routines, and supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4.

The Role

You will take responsibility for teaching English lessons across the school, delivering high-quality cover and ensuring pupils remain engaged, supported, and progressing in their learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Maintain strong classroom management and positive learning routines
• Support pupils’ academic progress and confidence in English
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and the wider department
• Follow school policies around behaviour, safeguarding, and assessment
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative school culture

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching English at secondary level
• Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
• A flexible, proactive, and professional approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Availability from 12th June
