Salary:42,000 per annum

Working pattern: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday (6.30/7am - 3.00/3.30pm with occasional over time for evening events)

About this role:

We are looking for a passionate and organised Sous Chef to join our team, supporting the day-to-day running of a busy caf and hospitality operation.

This role involves preparing fresh food for the caf service as well as delivering hospitality events including sandwiches, canaps and buffets. The site handles around 100 caf transactions daily, alongside hospitality catering for up to 150 covers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support two Kitchen Porters, working closely with the Head Chef and Hospitality Sous Chef.

• Help run the daily kitchen operation, serving up to 150 covers per day.

• Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and manage inventory to minimise waste.

• Support the Head Chef with menu planning and preparation for a busy catering environment.

• Oversee daily food preparation, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation.

• Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining high standards.

• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and fully compliant with health and safety standards.

• Assist with new menu ideas and dishes.

• Support food cost control and kitchen budgets.
