Job Description:

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Deputy Room Leader to support leadership within our Caterpillars two‑year‑old provision.

This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their EYFS career within a supportive and forward‑thinking school nursery.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Room Leader in the daily organisation of the room
  • Lead the room in the Room Leader’s absence
  • Support care routines, learning and wellbeing for two‑year‑olds
  • Help maintain safe, engaging and stimulating environments
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
  • Contribute to planning, observation and assessment

This position is term time only; please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro‑rata basis.

Essential Qualifications

  • Hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy

Desirable Qualifications

  • Paediatric First Aid Training

Essential Experience

  • Experience in an EYFS setting
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Be keen to develop leadership skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of administrative work
  • Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
