Key Accountabilities
- Lead and coordinate the electrical design team for timely execution of projects while ensuring quality and compliance with customer requirements.
- Understand customer specifications and international codes (IEC, NEMA, UL).
- Interpret customer requirements to create accurate design drawings and prepare engineering documents for sharing with the offshore team.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design fundamentals, including wiring harness design.
- Familiarity with electrical components and ability to create/maintain libraries in EPLAN P8 and EPLAN Pro Panel.
- Experience in control panel design and development, including 3D modelling and auto wire routing.
- Skilled in preparing control panel layouts, schematic drawings, and single‑line diagrams (SLDs).
- Hands‑on experience with drawings for genset control & power panels, ATS, MCC, PCC, PLC, drives, synchronizing, and control panels.
- Competence in the selection, calculation, and coordination of genset controllers, breakers, relays, contactors, fuses, transformers, and cable sizing.
- Apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking in design tasks.
- Coordinate with the client’s manufacturing team to understand their constraints and implement design improvements accordingly.
- Review and approve electrical schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, SLDs, and 3D panel designs before client submission.
- Plan and allocate project tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones.
- Liaise and coordinate with customers, vendors, and global/offshore teams for smooth engineering execution, project communication, and technical clarifications.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Take ownership of critical technical decisions and provide resolution for complex engineering challenges.
- Prepare and present project status reports, engineering progress updates, and resource planning to management.
- Ensure proper documentation control and revision management for all engineering deliverables.
- Execute projects with minimal supervision while adhering to schedules and delivering outputs on time.
Experience and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Should possess a valid passport.
- Willingness to work from the client location in the UK for a minimum of 1 year.
- Understanding of generator control systems and their operation.
- Knowledge of sensors used in generators.
- Hands‑on experience with EPLAN P8 and EPLAN Pro Panel.
- Experience in EPLAN data creation and management, including creation of plot frames and forms.
- Ability to prepare panel drawings (OGA, IGA, wiring, BOM, etc.) based on hardware engineering inputs and bill of material.
- Skilled in preparing reports in EPLAN such as part lists (BoM), terminal diagrams, cable diagrams, and ferrule lists.
- Experience in editing plot frames, forms (static/dynamic), creating new symbols, part databases, and window/symbol macros in EPLAN.
- Knowledge of selection criteria for switchgear, controllers, drives, and sensors.
- Strong expertise in the design and development of electrical systems.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with quick learning ability, adaptability, and effectiveness in dynamic environments.
