As the foundational Lead Engineer, you will own the technical roadmap and architectural direction for a mission-driven platform tackling debt taboo. Working across a Kotlin-based stack, you’ll partner with the founders to scale a proven MVP into a high-impact product, balancing pragmatism with high-quality engineering to drive social change.

What You Will Do

• Lead end-to-end engineering decisions across the Kotlin backend, native mobile apps, and AWS serverless architecture to ensure scalability.
• Partner directly with the founding team to translate product vision into technical reality, shaping the roadmap rather than just executing it.
• Define and raise engineering standards, establishing code quality processes and mentoring the team as the organization grows.

The ideal candidate

• Seasoned full-stack engineer with deep production experience in Kotlin and a strong understanding of system-level architectural trade-offs.
• Product-minded leader who thinks like a founder and is excited by the possibilities of leveraging Open Banking and AI for good.
• Comfortable with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Copilot to multiply velocity while maintaining high engineering craft.
