Role summary
The Business Tools team establishes and maintains a wide range of business‑process specific support tools. By using out‑of‑the‑box tools and the latest AI solutions they create customised workflow tools to increase productivity and support high levels of data quality. The business users need effective tools to complete their tasks. As the Product Owner, your role is to deeply understand the objectives and the business processes the business users implement to deliver those objectives. You will understand the tools the business uses right now and drive the thinking in how to improve them to better achieve the business objectives. You will drive configuration of existing tools and, when needed, provide direction to an AI agent and a software developer to effect bespoke changes, then support the business users to realise the most value from those changes over the long term.

What you’ll bring to the role
- A passion and service approach for delivering business value
- Skilled at uncovering true business needs, identifying solution options, and presenting proposals delivering business benefits. Confident at presenting ideas and recommendations.
- Practical experience in high‑stakes operational environments (e.g., assessments, logistics, or regulated industries).
- Experience documenting business processes using a formal approach such as ArchiMate, BPMN or UML.
- Experience using a broad range of IT system user interfaces and developing user interface requirements.
- Experience using AI for automation, requirements discovery, user story generation, and supervising AI‑generated technical outputs.
- An understanding of data governance frameworks and protocols.
- Comfortable coordinating and facilitating requirements workshops and negotiating with diverse stakeholder groups across different seniority levels.
- Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal translation of technology to business terms.
- Target‑driven and focused on owning a business solution delivery timeline.
- A team player, able to work collaboratively with and through others.
- Self‑organising and customer / end‑user delivery focused.
- An understanding of ITIL processes and standards.
