Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to use information technology with precision and speed in relation to all areas of work, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of developing, maintaining and using a database
  • Knowledge of data protection procedures and guidelines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with parents, professionals, members of the public and colleagues
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise work effectively and adhere to tight deadlines

Key Responsibilities

  • Use electronic methods of communication including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook electronic diaries, and maintain and use an accurate and confidential database (currently CAPITA 1)
  • Act as the caseworker for children known to the service by collating all information and reports and liaising with professionals linked to a child’s assessment
  • Prepare meeting paperwork, agendas, and take minutes for the New Referrals Meetings, the Early Years Forum meeting, and other relevant meetings
  • Provide office support to the Early Years SEND Service regarding the assessment and transition planning for children with SEND
  • Offer generic advice and guidance where appropriate
