Software Architect – Data & Performance – .NET, Azure, SQL – Scotland / UK Remote – Award-Winning, High-Growth AI SaaS Scale-Up

This hire will play a critical role in defining how data, AI, and large-volume workloads power the future of the platform.

This is not a “maintenance architect” role.

This is a hands‑on architectural leadership position shaping the backbone of a high‑impact SaaS product.

Your role will involve the following:

  • Defining scalable architectural solutions for high‑volume data
  • Leading data performance and optimisation initiatives
  • Embedding security and privacy‑by‑design principles
  • Delivering and reviewing cloud‑native Azure solutions
  • Driving architectural change within established codebases
  • Supporting how AI and data intelligence integrate into core product workflows

This is a role for someone who enjoys modernising, evolving and strengthening architecture — not just maintaining it.

We’re seeking a strong back‑end architect operating confidently within:

  • Performance optimisation and query tuning
  • A senior back‑end engineer or architect with strong system design capability
  • Experienced implementing architectural change in live SaaS products
  • Excellent at breaking down large, ambiguous problems into manageable deliverables
  • Confident managing risk, complexity and trade‑offs
  • Strong collaborator who can align engineering with product and business goals
  • Comfortable in a fast‑scaling environment with evolving requirements

What You’ll Get

  • 33 days holiday (rising to 40 days with tenure)
  • 4‑week paid sabbatical after 5 years
  • 20 hours paid volunteering time
  • Monthly team social time

Hybrid – Edinburgh or UK Remote

No mandated office days – autonomy and outcomes matter

Strong collaborative culture with optional in‑office connection

This is a pivotal role influencing how data, performance and AI scale across the platform.

You’ll help define how customers access, use and interact with mission‑critical data — driving measurable business results.

Immediate interview slots available for strong candidates.

Please ensure your CV clearly demonstrates:

  • Data‑heavy or performance‑sensitive systems
  • Technical leadership within live SaaS environments
