Emotional Literacy Support Facilitator – Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support, Tresham College – Corby Campus
Responsibilities
- Haven Support & Safe Space Provision – act as first point of contact for SEND learners in the Haven, providing a safe, welcoming environment that supports wellbeing, engagement and independence
- Targeted Interventions & Mentoring – deliver personalised 1:1 and small‑group interventions, including mentoring and emotional support tailored to individual learner needs
- Social Engagement & Enrichment Activities – plan and lead lunchtime activities and wider social events that promote interaction, confidence, inclusion and participation among learners
- Collaboration, Advocacy & Student Progress – work closely with curriculum teams, advocate for student needs in meetings, and support safety, wellbeing and achievement through effective communication
- Records, Compliance & Professional Practice – maintain accurate ALS records, contribute to quality processes, support marketing activities, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD requirements
About You
- Qualifications & SEND Knowledge – A Levels (or equivalent) with GCSE English and maths, strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, FE systems, safeguarding and post‑16 education pathways
- SEND Support & Learner Engagement – experience supporting young people with SEND in FE or similar settings, providing effective one‑to‑one support and maintaining a consistently high‑quality learner experience
- Communication, Reporting & Professional Practice – strong communication skills across all formats, able to produce clear reports, maintain professional relationships and uphold confidentiality and boundaries
- Organisation, IT & Collaboration – excellent organisational, administrative and IT skills, able to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work collaboratively with staff, teams and external stakeholders
- Professional Values, Flexibility & Safeguarding – adaptable, proactive and learner‑focused, committed to safeguarding, equality and college values, with flexibility to work varied hours and across multiple sites
