The role of Kubernetes / Hybrid Cloud Engineer is a technical dev‑ops engineering position focused on designing, building, and managing hybrid cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure to support real‑time, high‑performance container‑based workloads across LSEG’s global platform.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Ownership of Kubernetes and Hybrid Cloud design, build engineering, and development activities to deliver global cloud‑native container platform outputs.
- Deployment and test planning/execution for container platform capabilities and features.
- Providing design, engineering, and code reviews with attention to detail and advocating for quality within the team.
- Act as a beacon of Kubernetes / Hybrid Cloud knowledge and upskill other squad members and teams across LSEG.
- Apply problem‑structuring and solving skills across complex multi‑layered environments, collaborating with vendor or tenant teams to resolve issues.
- Review and research potential new products, championing these projects within LSEG.
- Adapt to a fluid environment with changing requirements and priorities.
- Maintain, configure, and validate Kubernetes Hybrid Cloud Platform development changes across Development, Test, and Live environments.
- Provide consultancy to LSEG colleagues deploying applications to the new platform and onboarding tenants.
- Communicate with platform architects and product owners to articulate impacts of current business challenges, issues, or new feature requirements in the container platform networking space.
What You’ll Bring
- Real‑world experience and an eagerness to learn rapidly.
- Ability to present to senior management in fluent business‑level English.
- Proven enterprise Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud‑native network engineering experience in large production environments.
- Hands‑on experience with EKS Kubernetes and Cilium‑based CNI skills.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes pipeline‑driven deployments and automated testing.
- Recent Linux experience, particularly Ubuntu.
- Experience with full‑stack platform monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
- IP routing and network service knowledge.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Git‑based pipelines and coding concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple activities in a fast‑paced environment against specific timelines.
- Experience with automation tooling such as Ansible, Terraform, and scripting.
- Test automation expertise (framework creation, process establishment, infra testing).
- Experience with Agile / CICD tools (JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab).
