Python Software Engineer / Developer London onsite to £100k
Are you a data savvy Python Software Engineer?
You could be progressing your career in an impactful role at a start-up Hedge Fund / FinTech founded by two hugely successful financial trading entrepreneurs.
As a Python Software Engineer you’ll join a small team to design and develop scalable, low latency backend trading systems services including APIs and data-driven research platforms that directly support investment and research teams. You’ll focus on backend Python and FastAPI development within a modern development environment including Snowflake, Containerisation, Kubernetes, Azure, LLMs and Claude and will also have exposure to data visualisation front ends.
A key focus of the role will be designing AI-enabled workflows using LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering and agentic systems to automate research, extract insights and accelerate decision making.
Working closely with portfolio managers and analysts, you’ll turn complex investment processes into scalable technical solutions, leveraging structured and unstructured data to deliver actionable intelligence, while helping to drive engineering best practices across architecture, testing, CI/CD, deployment and reliability.
Location / WFH:
You’ll join a small, accomplished team based in Mayfair on a fulltime basis, Monday to Friday.
About you:
- You are degree educated in Computer Science or other STEM discipline, having achieved a 2.1 or above from a top tier university
- You have commercial Python software development experience including data libraries such as Pandas and NumPy
- You have experience using AI, LLMs and agentic tools as part of day-to-day software development and problem solvingYou have experience of building APIs, FastAPI preferredYou’re familiar with SQL, database management, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud platforms (Azure preferred), orchestration tools such as Airflow or JenkinsYou’re collaborative and pragmatic with great communication skills
