My client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a new data centre facility, focusing on the physical construction, engineering, and commissioning of the site. This role sits on the data centre delivery side of the business and is responsible for managing all aspects of the build lifecycle, from design coordination through to handover.

The successful candidate will ensure that the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards expected of a mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of data centre construction projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out
  • Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans
  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure alignment and progress
  • Oversee procurement of construction services, equipment, and materials
  • Manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards
  • Oversee installation of critical systems including power, cooling, mechanical, and structural elements
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners
  • Provide clear and consistent reporting on project status, risks, and milestones
  • Facilitate coordination between engineering, operations, and commercial teams

Experience

  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects, ideally within data centres or other mission-critical environments (e.g. healthcare, utilities, industrial facilities)
  • Strong understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems within complex builds
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, and multi-disciplinary teams

Skills

  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts and commercial management

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) preferred
  • Relevant health & safety certifications (e.g. SMSTS) desirable
  • 33 days annual leave
