Apply for the Chair of Trustee Board, QUEER BRITAIN MUSEUM
Location: London
Job Description:

Queer Britain Museum is looking to recruit a new Chair for our Trustee Board.

Our mission is to Reclaim, Preserve, and Inspire LGBTQ+ history and culture.

Our current Chair is due to step down at the end of this year, as we approach trustee term limits. Our trustees are an amazing group of volunteers that serve up to three, three-year terms.

The Chair of the Board provides strategic leadership, governance oversight, and ambassadorial presence for Queer Britain Museum. They ensure the Board functions effectively, support the Executive team, uphold the organisation’s charitable mission, vision and values and champion the museum’s role within the UK’s cultural landscape.

This is a pivotal moment for Queer Britain. The Chair will help shape the museum’s long‑term vision, strengthen partnerships, help to shape the cultural offer and guide the organisation through an exciting period of development as it seeks a new permanent home in the next 4 years.

Our new Chair will help deliver the museum’s long‑term vision, strengthen partnerships, help to shape the cultural offer and guide our museum through an exciting period of growth and transformation.

If you are someone with proved leadership at Board or senior executive level, ideally within the cultural, heritage, charity or community sectors, then we’d love to hear from you.
