Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Insight Analyst to join our Data Analytics Team, which sits in a unique position between our Pricing, Reserving, and Claims departments. This role is focused on supporting both the Claims and Reserving sides of the business, with potential to also support the Pricing function.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Location: Liverpool City Centre, on a hybrid working basis. Salary: £Competitive depending on experience.

What you will be doing

  • Supporting and leading the Claim operation with understanding performance, spotting and reducing leakage, and helping define strategy using data and analytics.
  • Quantifying and feeding Claim operation process changes into the reserving cycle, while being the face of the claims operation to discuss triangulation development.
  • Liaising with the business to understand insight requests, prioritise workload, and deliver these.
  • Business-facing work with the Claim operation to ensure best practices are met when making decisions using data, acting in a Business Partner mindset.
  • Owning and calculating the cost‑saving initiatives (CSI’s) put forward from the business, tying in wider picture thinking to assess marginal customers in any CSI proposal. Calculations derived should speak both Claims and Reserving language.

  • Adaptable approach, delivering numerous pieces to tight deadlines with high quality.
  • Confident with numbers, using advanced maths to answer critical questions that drive better understanding and outcomes.
  • Can manipulate and analyse large data sets to produce concise information.
  • Comfortable coder using SQL to extract, cleanse, and manipulate data to support work and answer theories discussed.
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar software to assist in idea generation for the Claims operation and BI team when visualising data and performance.
  • Proactive in building and maintaining relationships across the business and all levels, managing expectations competently.
  • Comfortable with influencing and managing stakeholders at various levels, up to Exec/C‑Suite level.
  • Experience interpreting reserving curves, building forecasts (Chain Ladder Method), and discussing development patterns by sharing likely causes or hypotheses from operational or market changes.
  • Meticulous planning and organisation to manage and achieve deadlines set, to a high quality, organising own and team related projects if necessary.
  • Experience within Insurance or Claims would be highly advantageous.
