Overview

East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join Ipswich Hospital. The position is Band 8a, with the option to start at Band 7 and progress to Band 8a after completing prescribing and Diploma accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical pharmacy activity at ward level.
  • Lead education and training activities locally and across sites, developing schemes for all grades of pharmacist and pharmacy technician staff.
  • Mentor and coach junior pharmacists and student pharmacists throughout their Diploma and Foundation training.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimise medication use, minimise drug wastage and deliver advanced clinical pharmacy services in line with key performance indicators and agreed standards.
  • Facilitate cross‑site collaboration with Colchester to ensure consistency of practice.
  • Support the use of EPIC electronic patient record, pharmacy stock control system and fully automated dispensaries.
  • Assist with the specialist pharmacy service medicines advice site.
