We are excited to be able to offer a new developmental post that will provide training and support to an experienced Band 6 candidate who feels ready to progress their career. The role will transition to Band 7 following completion of competencies within a 12‑month timeframe and will be based at Barnet Hospital within the integrated Rapid Emergency and Acute Care Therapy Team (REACTT).
The successful applicant should be flexible and able to work in fast‑paced areas of the Emergency Department, Adult Assessment Unit (AAU) and Same‑Day Emergency Floor and Clinics. We are seeking an enthusiastic occupational therapist or physiotherapist who is keen to develop specialist clinical knowledge, management skills, and who is forward‑thinking, pro‑active with excellent organisational and clinical abilities to facilitate admission avoidance and safe discharges. Good communication skills and the ability to make autonomous decisions under pressure are also required.
Responsibilities
- Support the day‑to‑day running of the REACTT inpatient therapy service.
- Provide clinical leadership to a highly specialised MDT service with a focus on admission avoidance, frailty, quality improvement and exceptional patient assessment and care.
- Support the learning and development of the therapy team.
- Provide training to the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Co‑ordinate and support prioritisation and caseload management.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement projects and in setting new service directions.
Qualifications
The role requires a statutory occupational therapist or physiotherapist with Band 6 experience, strong organisational skills, and the capacity to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment. Candidates should be able to manage complex cases, demonstrate excellent communication, and exhibit proactive decision‑making under pressure.
