About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a BANK Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Gartree, a category B prison located in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. HMP Gartree has a capacity of 1,965 males.
Bank Hours
- Monday – Sunday
- Day shifts 7 am – 8 pm
- Night shift 19:30 – 07:30
Hourly Bank Rate
- Weekdays £23.83
- Nights £25.68

What you’ll be doing
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
- Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse‑led clinics to your patient group while being supported by a multi-disciplinary team
- Provide outstanding evidence‑based care to patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback to personalise care
- Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
- Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care, and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and build strong multi‑disciplinary teams

Qualifications required
- Registered nurse – Adult – National Nursing Council (NMC) registration
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
- A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
