Job Overview

A Vacancy at Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust. The post will suit a candidate who has ST5+ competencies and wishes to develop specialist knowledge and skills in high risk obstetrics managing women with pre‑existing and pregnancy‑acquired medical conditions. The role is designed to provide focused exposure to complex medical disorders in pregnancy, multidisciplinary working, and development of specialist clinical judgement in high‑risk medical care.

Responsibilities

The post holder will participate in departmental teaching, audits, and governance meetings. There will also be opportunities to undertake quality improvement projects, including enrolment onto the local quality improvement training course. Kingston Hospital also has a strong research portfolio and there will be an opportunity to take part in research after completion of Good Clinical Practice training. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of the on‑call (1 day on‑call nights and weekends) and elective rota to cover labour ward/maternity/LSCS/Day assessment unit. There will be a small component of general and emergency gynaecology cover.

Qualifications

The post is not recognised for training purposes but will be covered by the Terms and Conditions for Hospital, Medical and Dental Staff (England and Wales) with corresponding salary scale plus London Weighting Allowance. The candidate should possess ST5+ competencies and be willing to pursue additional training as necessary, including Good Clinical Practice training for research participation.
