The post holders will be responsible for producing technical documentation to support products in-service. As a Technical Author, you will be working with various other departments to accumulate the required information to create accurate and clear maintenance and training documentation.
Responsibilities
- Producing Component Maintenance Manuals to the ATA iSpec 2200 standard
- Producing training manuals for both crew and maintenance personnel
- Working with the engineering design team to produce Installation Documentation to the standard determined by the Aircraft OEM
- Managing workload to ensure on-time delivery of all documentation
- Creating Service Bulletins to implement design changes on current in-service programs
- Creating Service Information Letters to provide advisory information or maintenance clarification for current in-service programs
- Creating Temporary Revisions to implement changes to maintenance data and/or parts within the Component Maintenance Manual
- Attending project milestones and customer meetings as required

Requirements
- Relevant Degree within Manufacturing/Engineering or relevant experience in an Engineering discipline
- A high level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems
- A good understanding of authoring software and standard authoring practises
- Strong background in gathering information and research
- Ability to clearly convey technical content in the written form, particularly in the form of maintenance instructions
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
- The ability to work on own initiative but also as part of a team
