Job Overview

Arm’s System Performance Team within Central Technology Group evaluates emerging technologies for Arm products spanning data centres to IoT. Using a hardware-software co-design approach, we analyse system performance and help shape future Arm technologies. We are looking for a Graduate Engineer to support the analysis and optimisation of Arm systems. The role involves studying, modelling, and analysing applications and workloads across areas including AI/ML, computer vision, media, gaming, and productivity.

What you could be doing as a Graduate in our team?

This role is multifaceted, and you are encouraged to think out of the box and follow well-known strategies. The end goal is to help improve Arm's Products in every release. You will be contributing to that goal by analysing how each Arm-based system works and how it runs different applications; abstracting the entire stack in our system modelling apparatus; and iterating on interpreting the results and re‑experimenting with the stack’s abstraction. The output of these studies will be consumed by multiple design teams that work on the system, providing recommendations for improving its performance and efficiency.

We are looking for individuals who:

Hold (or are on track to hold) a university degree by the programme start date. This can be Bachelors, Masters or PhD in a STEM degree. Candidates with alternative degrees will also be considered if they have relevant experience.

  • Have a good understanding of Computer and System Architecture, and Software Stacks
  • Some exposure to using scripting languages (e.g. Python), shell scripting (e.g. bash), and any procedural programming language (e.g. C, C++)

Qualities that will help your application stand out:

  • Understanding of, and exposure to, Software and Hardware performance analysis
  • Attention to detail and enjoying working with other teams
  • Exposure to version control systems (e.g. git, svn, csv)

Application Closing Date

24th May 2026

In Return:

You’ll receive a starting salary of £47k (Bachelor level) or £48k (Master level), alongside a comprehensive rewards package. As you develop in role, you’ll have clear opportunities to progress within the salary range at Arm. With mid-year and year-end reviews, you’ll have two formal progression windows each year, recognising your growth.

You can also attend our "Grad-teach-Grads" workshops, guest speaker series, and social events to expand your knowledge. If you’d like to get more involved, you can join the Graduate Committee to further develop your planning, networking, and coordination skills.

You’ll be invited to our Global Graduate Conference (GGC) – an annual event where graduates hear from executive leaders, guest speakers, and build lasting connections. With many of our leaders and technical specialists having originally joined as a Graduate, will you be next?
