Responsibilities

  • Deliver Hydraulic Engineering on a range of projects from feasibility through outline and detailed design stages.
  • Produce and review hydraulic calculations, HADES models, specifications, drawings and reports.
  • Engage with the client, manage relationships and adopt a One-Team approach to support the client in achieving their aims.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and provide technical guidance and advice on best practice in hydraulic design.
  • Work collaboratively across disciplines to ensure efficient delivery of projects within the programme.
  • Provide quality assurance of others' work by undertaking check/review functions.
  • Collaborate closely with the construction team and supply chain to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout the design stages, into construction and post‑project review.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to degree level, and ideally Chartered, Incorporated, or working towards a relevant professional institution (ICE, IMechE, CIWEM).
  • Proven track‑record in providing outline design, detailed design and construction support services relevant to the water/wastewater sector.
  • Extensive technical experience of water and wastewater hydraulic calculations/modelling for infrastructure and/or non‑infrastructure projects, preferably in a design‑and‑build environment.
  • Competent in using HADES modelling software and other relevant packages.
  • Able to explain hydraulic issues and techniques to non‑hydraulic professionals.
