Team Leader – Outdoor Agricultural Work (East Suffolk)

We’re hiring a Team Leader to supervise one of our specialist field teams. This is a physically demanding but highly rewarding role with plenty of opportunity to grow your skills and work with fantastic people; a role where your character matters as much as your experience.

About the Role

You’ll be leading a dedicated team carrying out a range of outdoor farming tasks including field walking, sheeting, and other seasonal activities. While the work is straightforward & variable, it can be physically tough, so excellent stamina and a strong work ethic are essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Direct daily fieldwork and keep the team focused on task and quality.
  • Set clear goals & expectations, maintain pace, and make decisions on the ground.
  • Monitor performance and report accurately to management.
  • Motivate and support your team members.
  • Spot and resolve problems before they escape escalation.
  • Maintain records and communicate any issues promptly.

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone who leads by example.
  • Experience supervising or organising others (formal or informal, we’ll consider strong candidates without a job title, but you’ll need to demonstrate the instinct).
  • Excellent communication, clear, direct and honest.
  • Self‑discipline with the ability to keep a team focused on the goal in tough conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a tidy, organised approach.
  • Integrity you’d be happy to stand behind.

What We Offer

  • Paid Holiday.
  • Workplace pension.
  • Private health insurance (after qualifying period).
  • Worker Assistance Programme (after qualifying period).
  • Gym membership discounts (after qualifying period).
  • First Aid training and other certificated training.
  • Varied, outdoor work that changes daily.
  • A professional, close‑knit team that takes pride in their work.
  • Progression opportunities for those who prove themselves.

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (preferably clean); you’ll be driving one of our vehicles.
  • Smartphone with reliable internet access.
  • Physically fit and able to sustain long hours outdoors in all conditions.
  • First Aid certificate is desirable, but we’ll provide training.

Job Details

  • Full‑time: 60 hours/week.
  • Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays during peak periods.
  • Location: You must already live in East Suffolk, ideally near Woodbridge, Ipswich or Needham Market.
