We’re on the lookout for a meticulous and proactive Payroll Bureau Officer/Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll manage end-to-end payroll processes for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and delivering exceptional service.

This is a full-time office-based position.

This is a client focused payroll position that will offer payroll professionals varied and diverse opportunities to undertake an entire payroll process from start to finish for a portfolio of clients. Overall, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of annual, monthly, quarterly or weekly assigned payrolls. You will also have responsibility for providing oversight and support to our payroll administrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate high-quality end to end payroll, including dealing with client queries ensuring any issues are resolved promptly and professionally
  • Support the on-boarding process agreed with client and set up payrolls to the system
  • Assist with training and supporting junior and new payroll administrators
  • Assist with HMRC reconciliations and escalating any queries accordingly
  • Assist with the implementation and roll out of quality control checks and system enhancements
  • Successfully build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and new clients

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years payroll experience, within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice
  • At least 4-5 years general end to end payroll processing experience
  • CIPP technician, preferable but not essential. Practical experience will also be taken into account
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office and databases
  • Experience with BRAIN payroll is preferred but not essential as full training on BRAIN will be provided
  • Full knowledge of current legislation
  • Good understanding of BACS payments, time frames and the process
  • Experience with auto-enrolment pension schemes. NEST, Royal London etc.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data protection best practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptability to changing processes and regulations
