Salary: SQ1 £25,436.34 – SQ4 £27,372.66 pro rata
Contract: 40 weeks + 5 admin days | 37.5 hours per week
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8.00am–4.00pm

At Kings Monkton School we believe every young person deserves to feel safe, valued, supported and inspired to succeed. We are seeking an exceptional Inclusion Officer to join our growing Inclusion and Wellbeing Team and help shape the lives of pupils across our secondary phase.
This is far more than a pastoral support role. It is an opportunity to become a key part of a forward-thinking school community that places wellbeing, belonging and inclusion at the heart of learning.
You will work alongside a highly supportive team including our Wellbeing Officer, ALNCo/DSP, Key Stage Managers, Assistant Heads (Pastoral) and intervention specialists to ensure every learner can thrive — academically, socially and emotionally.
The role
As Inclusion Officer, you will:
- Support pupils experiencing barriers to learning, attendance or wellbeing
- Deliver targeted interventions and restorative support
- Build positive relationships with pupils and families
- Work collaboratively with staff and external agencies
- Promote a calm, respectful and inclusive school culture
- Help vulnerable pupils re-engage successfully with school life
- Use data and professional judgement to identify needs and measure impact
This is a role for someone who combines compassion with resilience, and who believes in the power of relationships to transform outcomes for young people.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking someone who:
- Is passionate about inclusion and pupil wellbeing
- Has experience working with children or young people
- Can build trust quickly and communicate effectively
- Remains calm under pressure and can de-escalate situations positively
- Believes every pupil can succeed, regardless of circumstance
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and professional integrity
- Thrives as part of a collaborative and ambitious team
- Experience in pastoral care, behaviour support, youth work, education or wellbeing services would be highly beneficial.
