Our client, a highly regarded London law firm, is seeking a Risk Lawyer to join its established Risk & Compliance team on a permanent basis.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected Risk & Compliance function, working closely with senior stakeholders across the firm on a broad range of professional indemnity, complaints and regulatory matters. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and assessing notifications relating to potential claims, conduct issues and risk events
  • Reviewing legal files and liaising with fee earners to gather information and prepare internal risk summaries
  • Supporting the handling of client complaints, including drafting responses and monitoring regulatory deadlines
  • Acting as a key liaison point with insurers, external advisers and regulatory bodies where required
  • Maintaining accurate records relating to live claims, complaints and risk matters
  • Assisting with responses to regulatory enquiries and data subject access requests
  • Contributing to internal reporting, risk analysis and ongoing compliance initiatives across the firm
  • Supporting the annual professional indemnity insurance renewal process, including preparation of claims information and supporting documentation
  • Working collaboratively with senior compliance stakeholders to identify trends, improve processes and support risk–related training initiatives

This Risk Lawyer opportunity is a full time, permanent position, working Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 5:30pm.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a legal risk, compliance or professional indemnity role within a law firm
  • Strong understanding of SRA regulations, complaints handling and claims management processes
  • Excellent written communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
