HRGO are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Planning Officer – Development Management to join their team in Ashford from 23rd March 2026.
Role Overview
Support the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused planning service, working on planning applications, enforcement cases, and policy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and assess planning applications within agreed timescales
- Respond to planning and enforcement appeals
- Handle enquiries from applicants, agents, and stakeholders
- Support planning policy development and service improvements
- Contribute to maintaining high customer satisfaction
Skills & Experience
- Experience with planning applications and/or enforcement cases
- Knowledge of planning legislation and policy
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Confident using planning systems and Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Eligible for, currently undertaking, or willing to complete RTPI-supported postgraduate planning training
Details
- Hours: 37/week (Monday-Friday)
- Hybrid: Minimum 1 day in office
- Duration: 6-9 months
- Salary: £16.50 – £22.25ph DOE
