Transport Manager

Salary: Competitive plus a 17.5% bonus, company car/allowance and Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Colwick Waste Transfer and Treatment Facility, Colwick Industrial Estate, Netherfield, NG4 2BD

Responsibilities

• Take full control and responsibility for the transport function across Nottinghamshire, ensuring efficient service Monday to Friday
• Ensure compliance with Operator’s Licence requirements, transport legislation and Veolia internal procedures
• Manage fleet maintenance to achieve best value and legal compliance, overseeing standards, schedules and performance
• Collaborate with contract finance teams to produce financial management information, including monthly profit and loss reporting and accurate forecasting
• Liaise with local regulatory bodies (EA, HSE, Transport Ministry) to meet obligations
• Line manage the transport team, handling recruitment, performance management and disciplinary processes as required
• Attend meetings as needed and cover for the General Manager in their absence
• Regularly challenge practices, embed review processes and a continuous improvement culture to drive efficiency

Qualifications

• Experienced Transport Manager with understanding of waste management transport/services and fleet operations
• Valid Transport Manager CPC (essential)
• Solid knowledge of transport, Health & Safety and environmental legislation
• Proven leadership skills to motivate teams, manage people processes and drive improvement
