Job Title: Senior Technical Business Analyst
Location: London – Hybrid
Contract: 12 months contract
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst with strong front‑office experience to support trading system initiatives across Equities and/or Fixed Income. This role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and trading operations, driving end‑to‑end delivery across OMS/EMS platforms, integrations, and front‑office transformation programs.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Delivery
- Gather, analyse, and document detailed business and technical requirements for trading system initiatives
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for engineering teams
- Support end‑to‑end delivery of front‑office projects, including system implementations, migrations, and integrations
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders across Front Office, Product, Technology, and Operations
Trading Systems & Technology
- Work with Order Management Systems (OMS) such as Aladdin, Charles River, Flextrade, Fidessa, TS Imagine, etc.
- Support implementations including:
- OMS installations and upgrades
- OMS‑to‑EMS integrations
- Cross‑platform system migrations
- Apply knowledge of FIX protocol for system connectivity and trade flow
- Manage and analyse trade and market data, including database querying using SQL
Front Office & Asset Class Expertise
- Provide subject matter expertise in Equities and/or Fixed Income
- Understand and support end‑to‑end trade lifecycle workflows
- Engage with electronic trading venues such as TradeWeb, MarketAxess, Bloomberg
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate across Engineering, Product, Business, and Operations teams
- Oversee vendor relationships and project deliverables
- Track and manage project milestones, risks, and dependencies
- Lead and mentor a small team of analysts or project resources
- Ensure alignment of team deliverables with broader program objectives
- Promote best practices in analysis, documentation, and delivery
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with OMS platforms (e.g., Aladdin, Charles River, Fidessa, etc.)
- Solid understanding of FIX protocol
- Experience with SQL and data analysis (trade and market data)
- Proven experience with system implementations and integrations
Domain Knowledge
- Deep understanding of Equities and/or Fixed Income markets
- Knowledge of front‑office trading environments (buy side/sell side)
- Familiarity with electronic trading venues (TradeWeb, MarketAxess, Bloomberg)
Professional Experience
- Experience managing small teams or workstreams
- Strong project and vendor management experience
- Hands‑on experience with Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, JIRA)
- Background in front‑office transformation or trading technology projects
Core Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to operate in fast‑paced, high‑pressure trading environments
- Strong attention to detail and documentation quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on OMS/EMS integration projects
- Exposure to multi‑asset trading environments
- Prior experience in global financial institutions or asset managers
