Are you confident supporting young people with challenging behaviour? We’re recruiting Teaching Assistants to work with primary-aged students in SEMH and alternative provision settings across Leeds.
Leader Education is partnering with specialist schools and alternative provisions to find resilient, consistent mentors who can build strong relationships and help pupils re-engage with education.
This is a full-time position (Monday–Friday) supporting pupils who require consistent behavioural and emotional support to succeed in school.
You will:
Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour mentoring
Support de-escalation and emotional regulation
Build strong, professional relationships with pupils
Implement behaviour plans and EHCP strategies
Help students re-engage with learning
Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams
Pupils may present with SEMH needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD, attachment needs, or trauma-related behaviours.

Strong backgrounds include:
Behaviour mentor
Youth work
Care or residential support
Sports coaching
Psychology graduates
Alternative provision
Security or intervention work with young people
School experience is helpful but not essential — resilience and attitude are key.
