The Role

The General Manager will take full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the Manchester site.

Reporting directly to the Group CEO, this is a hands‑on leadership role requiring a strong technical production background combined with commercial awareness and customer-facing capability.

The successful candidate will oversee production operations, manage site personnel, support commercial activities and ensure customer requirements, delivery schedules and operational targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day site operations
  • Oversee production activities to ensure efficiency, quality and delivery performance
  • Manage and support operational and production teams
  • Drive operational improvements and business performance
  • Work closely with customers and maintain strong working relationships
  • Support commercial discussions around pricing, quotations and customer requirements
  • Coordinate production schedules and resource planning
  • Ensure operational targets and delivery deadlines are achieved
  • Maintain high standards across health & safety, quality and operational compliance
  • Support strategic planning and business growth initiatives alongside senior leadership

About You

  • Strong technical production or manufacturing background
  • Previous experience in a senior operational or site leadership role
  • Commercially aware with strong customer-facing capability
  • Experience managing teams within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Able to operate effectively within a fast‑paced hands‑on environment
  • Conversion industry background highly desirable
  • Comfortable working fully on-site
