A leading international infrastructure investment platform is seeking to hire an Investment Director into its European investment team, based in London.
The role offers exposure across both core-plus and value-add infrastructure strategies, with a broad mandate spanning origination, execution, asset management and portfolio growth initiatives across Europe.
The successful individual will work closely with senior leadership across a diversified infrastructure portfolio and play a key role in identifying and executing investment opportunities across sectors including energy transition, transportation, digital infrastructure, utilities and social infrastructure.
This hire may also form part of a broader geographical expansion into new regions across Europe, with a strong preference towards Southern Europe (particularly Iberia) and the Nordics, although the mandate is not limited to those markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Origination and execution of infrastructure investments across Europe
- Leading transaction workstreams including structuring, diligence, financing and negotiations
- Active involvement in portfolio management and value creation initiatives post-acquisition
- Supporting development and scaling of sector and regional investment strategies
- Managing relationships with management teams, advisors, lenders and institutional counterparties
- Mentoring and overseeing junior investment professionals within the team
- Supporting fundraising, co-investment and broader strategic initiatives where relevant
Candidate Profile
- 8–12 years’ experience across infrastructure private equity, infrastructure investing or adjacent principal investing environments
- Strong origination and transaction execution experience within European infrastructure
- Experience across core-plus and/or value-add investment strategies
- Broad infrastructure sector exposure, with particular interest in energy transition and operationally complex assets
- Strong commercial judgement and ability to operate autonomously within a lean team environment
- Demonstrated portfolio and asset management exposure post-investment
- European language skills are essential, with a strong preference towards Southern European and Nordic language capabilities
The role would suit an investor looking to step into a platform with significant long-term growth ambitions across Europe and the opportunity to take on increasing leadership and regional responsibility over time.
