Job Role

Contracts Manager – Student Accommodation

Location

University College London

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a contract valued between £2m and £3m, taking overall contractual, operational and financial responsibility.
  • Coordinate with business and helpdesk staff and other contract managers for training and support.
  • Deliver contracted services to a high technical standard across all on‑site works.
  • Ensure all works comply with health & safety protocols and are escalated appropriately.
  • Operate within financial budget constraints and report on budgets and expenditures.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records, compliance data, and CAFM reports.
  • Develop operating procedures, policies and client relationships to retain contracts and create future opportunities.
  • Attend contract review meetings with Business Unit Head and Contract Managers.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to clients and internal staff.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections and self‑audit work.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Accurate estimation of reactive and planned work.
  • Experience managing account P&L for contracts.
  • Leadership ability and fostering a positive working environment.
  • Strong organisational, time‑management and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication; attention to detail.
  • Commercially astute, self‑starter and results‑driven.
  • Ability to meet and exceed performance and commercial targets.
  • Experience in a service and maintenance environment, field or office.
  • Basic technical understanding of trade concepts.
  • Familiarity with CAFM and MS Office (training will be provided).
  • Adaptability to a variety of works and contract demands.
  • Industry or residential building experience (advantage).
