As a Liaison Officer in our Citizen Services team, you’ll play a key role in connecting people, processes, and partners to ensure the smooth delivery of the Electronic Monitoring Service (EMS) — enhancing public safety and strengthening collaborative relationships across the Midlands or East of England (we welcome applications from both areas).
You’ll Be Entrusted To
- Act as the main point of contact for Criminal Justice stakeholders across your area, ensuring information is clearly shared and understood.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen professional relationships with stakeholders and partner agencies.
- Deliver presentations, attend meetings, and represent the EMS at local forums to support collaboration and understanding.
- Address and resolve escalated matters swiftly and constructively, promoting effective communication and problem‑solving.
- Support projects and operational delivery by coordinating activities, tracking progress, and ensuring accurate reporting.
- Travel regularly across the region to meet partners, attend forums, and maintain strong local engagement.
- Occasionally provide cover outside of your area.
Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge of the Electronic Monitoring Service (EMS) or the wider criminal justice sector.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in delivering presentations to varied audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain trusted relationships at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and travel across the area.
- A proactive, problem‑solving approach, with the confidence to handle issues and find fair, practical solutions.
- A collaborative mindset and adaptability to changing circumstances or stakeholder needs.
Vetting
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. Depending on the nature of the role, you may also need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC). UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
