We’re more than just a water company. We're dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment, sustainability, and the communities we serve. By joining us, you’ll work with the latest technologies, driving forward‑thinking projects that enhance and protect national infrastructure, making a real difference to the communities we serve.
With nearly 10,000 colleagues, we're looking for more brilliant people who are passionate about sustainability, eager to innovate, and ready to turn challenges into opportunities for a better future.
Role Overview
We’re now looking for a driven Lead Project Manager to play a pivotal role in the success of our Strategic Resource Options Programme – a high‑profile portfolio of critical projects. It could be the biggest challenge of your career. If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you.
Reporting to the Programme Lead, the Lead Project Manager will be responsible for leading a team of project managers to deliver complex large‑scale engineering projects developing new sources of water which are vital to our future resource planning needs. Working in partnership with other water companies you’ll help to provide resilient water resources within Severn Trent, and across the UK as part of a forward‑thinking and innovative national programme of major infrastructure projects.
You will be based in our Coventry offices and work within the SRO Team. This critical role requires a 37‑hour a week commitment, flexibility to work from home, and occasional travel to other sites. A full UK driving licence is required.
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, the candidate is degree qualified with relevant water/construction industry experience in project and programme delivery, and is a forward‑thinking, innovative leader capable of managing multiple major capital projects. You will have experience of managing NEC projects, a proven track record of cost planning and management, and budgetary responsibility.
We value skills and experience, but also character, positivity, and a caring attitude. We welcome and celebrate diverse individuals, knowing they help us better serve our communities.
Reward and Care
Working here isn’t just a job. You can build a career at Severn Trent. We’ll reward you for it, too. We have a range of benefits that recognise great work, award‑winning training to help you reach your potential, and opportunities to play your part in looking after the environment and the communities where we live.
- 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/sell up to 5 days per year)
- Annual bonus scheme (up to £2,250 per annum based on company performance)
- Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
- Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
- Dedicated training and development with our ‘Academy’
- Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
- Family‑friendly policies and two volunteering days per year
