Job Title: Application & Systems Specialist

Department: Faculty IT & Partnering

Reports to: IT Service Manager

About the Role:

We are looking for an Application & Systems Specialist to support and develop IT platforms across Higher Education. You will act as a systems administrator, support academic users, and contribute to projects that enhance teaching, research, and administrative services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support Windows/Linux servers (on-prem & cloud)
• Maintain and support research and teaching applications
• Monitor system performance, security, backups, and availability
• Troubleshoot incidents and provide advanced technical support
• Collaborate with teams to improve systems and services
• Participate in agile project and product teams
• Support academic staff with specialist IT solutions
• Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials

Key Skills & Experience:

• Comfortable working in a hands-on, on-site support role
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office 365
• Strong experience supporting Windows 11 and macOS environments
