Team Manager – Children’s Social Care (MASH)

Salary: £57,402 – £60,573 (includes £5,000 market supplement). 3 positions available. Hybrid working: Newham Dockside E16 2QU.

Job Summary

The role involves leading a multidisciplinary team in a Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), ensuring timely, proportionate decisions to safeguard children and support families. You will implement best practice, lead closely with partner agencies, and promote systemic and restorative practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Social Workers, Senior Social Workers, Early Help Practitioners and Referral Officers.
  • Ensure high‑quality, timely, proportionate decisions in safeguarding and support families.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to provide strong information sharing and defensible decision‑making.
  • Create a safe, reflective environment where systemic practice can flourish.
  • Lead through change and promote continued improvement of Front Door practice.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Substantial experience working in a local authority MASH or Front Door service at Team Manager level or higher with management experience.
  • Strong understanding of systemic and restorative practice, able to apply creatively in a fast‑paced safeguarding environment.
  • Resilient, confident leader with passion for improving outcomes for children and families.
  • Experience working within a diverse, urban context and ability to lead through change.
  • Disability and background checks (e.g., DBS) required.
