We’re looking for a passionate Senior Analyst ‑ FP&A to support our financial planning and analysis processes and deliverables. You’ll play a key role in reporting actual and forecast performance which is insightful, actionable and drives the business forward.
You’ll coordinate the preparation of forecasts ensuring transparency and reliability and work closely with the US and UK finance teams to derive a consolidated view and support a single cohesive story. You’ll look for ways to enhance internal processes that optimise innovation and value‑add analysis.
This role is based out of our Warwick office; we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that works best for you.
What you’ll do
- Preparation of finance reports for the National Grid Ventures (NGV) Senior Leadership Team and Group Financial Control, consistently managing against deadlines.
- Support the development of our quarterly forecast and annual iteration of our 10‑year business plan, bringing insight and analysis to add value and support decisions.
- Co‑ordinate the reporting and planning processes by setting accurate timetables and guidance to ensure delivery to agreed timescales and stakeholder requirements.
- Support wider transformational activities affecting the NGV FP&A team, working closely with project teams to ensure a smooth transition to new processes.
- Use reporting systems to extract data for review and build useful reports for the business.
- Act as a business partner for key finance stakeholders, supporting them in generating and interpreting business information.
- Proactively build own knowledge of the varied NGV operating companies, to produce concise and clear reporting.
- Proactively seek out opportunities to improve processes through best practice and new technologies such as advanced use of Microsoft Excel, including Power Query & Power BI, to create and improve internal financial models.
What you’ll have
- Qualified or near‑qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
- Experience across planning, forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting—you know how to turn numbers into something meaningful.
- A solid understanding of core financial processes and how they fit together.
- Strong financial modelling skills, with advanced Excel capability—and if you’ve used Power BI or Power Query, even better. You enjoy finding smarter, more efficient ways of doing things.
- A strong grounding in management accounting and the ability to provide clear, insightful support to the business.
- A proactive, self‑driven approach—you’re comfortable owning your workload and delivering quality work on time.
- A practical, adaptable mindset. You stay calm in a changing environment and can flex your style to suit different stakeholders and needs.
- Some exposure to business partnering and the confidence to engage with teams across the organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills—you know how to build relationships, influence decisions and work well with others.
