This is a full‑time position with working hours 8 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday. The role is based on site, five days a week.
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented individual to join our team as Financial Controller. A strong foundation in accounting and finance, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for accuracy are required. This role will lead the finance team of up to three direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate month‑end transactions, close processes, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Manage payroll and ensure on‑time compliance with ATO requirements, including BAS, FBT, foreign exchange and end‑of‑financial‑year reporting.
- Oversee and manage the Business Central General Ledger system, MYOB payroll and Time & Attendance systems, ensuring timely upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the key finance business partner, providing financial insights and guidance to internal stakeholders and supporting decision‑making processes.
- Monitor and update finance policies, manage debt and expenditure recognition, and lead continuous improvement efforts across finance systems and processes.
- Provide support and guidance to the finance team, ensuring an effective and efficient working environment.
Skills & Experience
- University degree in accounting, with CA/CPA qualification.
- 10+ years’ experience in financial and management accounting roles, with a deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation legislation.
- Knowledge of Pronto Finance software (preferred), payroll systems and processes, and extensive experience in foreign exchange.
- Ability to manage and resolve issues, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Hands‑on approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable and strong work ethic and good time‑management skills.
