About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Property Facultative Underwriter to join a growing international reinsurance organisation and play a key role in expanding its Property and Facultative Engineering portfolio.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the continued growth of the portfolio while building strong relationships across brokers, cedants, and international stakeholders.
The Role
The Property Facultative Underwriter will support the continued development of the Property and Facultative Engineering portfolio, underwriting risks across international markets while maintaining strong technical underwriting standards and commercial discipline.
The role will involve close interaction with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders, requiring strong analytical capability alongside relationship management skills and market awareness.
This position offers broad exposure across underwriting, portfolio management, broker development, and strategic portfolio growth within a dynamic and expanding reinsurance platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite Property Facultative and Facultative Engineering risks in line with underwriting appetite and strategy
- Analyse submissions, technical underwriting data, and exposure information to support underwriting decisions
- Develop and maintain strong broker and market relationships across the Lloyd’s and London Market
- Support the growth and profitability of the Property Facultative portfolio
- Work closely with senior underwriting leadership on portfolio development initiatives
- Monitor market trends, pricing conditions, and portfolio performance
- Contribute to underwriting strategy discussions and portfolio planning
- Collaborate with internal teams across underwriting, operations, and claims where required
- Ensure accurate underwriting documentation and adherence to internal controls and governance standards
About You
We are looking for a commercially minded underwriting professional with strong technical capability and a collaborative approach.
- 3–5 years’ experience underwriting Property Facultative business
- Strong analytical and technical underwriting capability
- Experience reviewing pricing models, exposure analysis, and underwriting data
- Ability to manage and develop broker relationships effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Comfortable operating within a fast-paced international environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- High attention to detail with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset
- Experience within Lloyd’s or the wider London Market
- ACII qualification (or currently working towards it)
- Existing relationships with London Market reinsurance brokers
- Additional language skills would be advantageous
