  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent)
  • Experience in technical accounting, group reporting or financial reporting
  • Knowledge of IFRS (experience with US GAAP is helpful but not essential)

What the job involves

  • We are the Group Technical Accounting team, providing support on complex accounting matters
  • We partner with colleagues across Finance, Tax and other functions on transactions, regulatory change and external reporting. Our work helps drive consistency in accounting outcomes and supports sound decision‑making
  • In this role, we help resolve accounting issues and ensure accounting policies aligned with IFRS and regulatory requirements
  • We cover acquisition accounting, goodwill and purchased intangible assets, including impairment testing, and contribute to the preparation of interim and annual financial statements
  • Within the Group Reporting and Accounting team, we partner across the business to support accurate and compliant reporting
  • We review and update accounting policies and support their application across the organisation
  • We advise on the accounting treatment of acquisitions, and intangible assets, including goodwill and impairment testing, and new or changing activities
  • We follow developments in accounting standards and regulation and support their implementation where relevant
  • We produce technical papers and documentation for management review, audit and governance purposes
  • We train and provide guidance to finance teams
  • We support the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements
