This role is perfect for a proactive auditor with food manufacturing experience, driving product quality and food safety through impactful auditing, hands‑on sampling and thorough investigative work.

Position type: Permanent Full-Time

Hours: 36

Shift Pattern: 3 on 4 off, Monday – Saturday, 18:00 – 06:00

Pay range: £15.60 per hour

Breaks: 3 x 20 minute paid

Closing Date: Friday 15th May 2026

Responsibilities

  • Maintain product quality, safety, legality and customer specification compliance, ensuring GMP standards are upheld and the site remains audit‑ready at all times.
  • Conduct scheduled internal and external audits of the QMS (e.g., hygiene, GMP, pest control, glass & hard plastics), raise non‑conformances, and ensure timely and effective closure of corrective actions.
  • Carry out routine swabbing, sampling and testing activities (hand swabs, rapid swabs, water, validation, shelf life, nutritional's) and review/challenge finished product testing regimes and results.
  • Identify conformance and non‑conformance trends, investigate customer complaints and foreign body incidents, providing thorough root cause analysis and reporting to the QA Manager.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, specifications and concession processes, completing detailed documentation checks and participating in traceability exercises as required.
  • Support wider QA activities, including works order and specification management, selected quality control checks, and coordination of taste panels.

Qualifications

  • Quality Auditor experience in a food manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Strong focus on product quality and following procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and clear communication.
  • Team-oriented, supportive and able to work collaboratively.
  • Confident in challenging non‑compliance with solid problem‑solving ability.
  • Competent IT skills, including strong use of Microsoft Office.
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 and HACCP Level 2.
