Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Fracture Clinic at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. The role is part of the Trauma and Orthopaedics speciality and involves caring for trauma, major trauma, paediatric trauma, elective pre‑listing and routine pre‑ and post‑operative orthopaedic patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based programmes of care for patients independently.
- Coordinate seamless care from admission to discharge, using efficient verbal and written communication with the multidisciplinary team, primary care services and carers.
- Act as team leader on a regular basis and provide senior cover when necessary, managing ward/department area in the absence of the ward manager or deputy.
- Work independently on designated shifts and participate in the application, adjustment and removal of casts.
- Assist the senior nurse in managing nursing resources efficiently, including on‑duty rosters, short‑notice sickness absence and manpower resources.
- Manage ward/department resources such as stores, supplies and medicines.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Training and Experience
- Current NMC registration and a live NMC UK PIN.
- BOC Casting Certificate or willingness to complete one.
- Strong communication, organisational, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
