Critical Care Staff Nurse – Conquest

Overview

We are recruiting a fixed-term contract Band 5 nurse for the Critical Care team at Conquest. The role requires acute ward experience and a desire to work with critically ill patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised nursing care to critically ill patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Work day and night 11.5‑hour shifts on internal rotation.
• Participate in a clear education programme: at least 6 weeks of supernumerary training followed by completion of the national workbook (Steps 1).
• Receive support from a team leader, a clinical skills facilitator and a practice educator, and attend scheduled coaching shifts.
• Engage with supportive services such as a cross‑site clinical psychologist who assists patients, relatives and staff.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience on an acute ward.
• Desire for a new challenge in critical care.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including day, night and 11.5‑hour shifts.
• Band 5 nursing registration and experience.
