Veterinary Surgeon (Nights)
Location: Bristol
Contract: Part Time – First Opinion Practice
Competitive Salary: up to £65,000 (DOE) annualised hours
Schedule & Working Hours
- Average 12 hours per week
- One in three weeks includes 36 hours (Week 1), 2 weeks off
- Monday‑Wednesday nights, 8 pm – 9 am
- On‑call (OOH)
- Inclusive of exotic inpatient care
- Sole charge
- Emergency critical care (ECC)
Role Overview
Working within a culture that empowers clinicians, you will:
- Provide primary care out‑of‑hours consultations
- Transfer member practice cases
- Deliver inpatient care, medical work‑ups and surgery
- Lead on surgical and medical cases, carry out diagnostic investigations accurately
- Maintain and improve clinical standards and mentor junior staff
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified veterinary surgeon (RCVS/VDS, fully registered)
- 3–5+ years of small animal experience
- Strong knowledge of routine and emergency surgery
- Excellent communication skills and client service orientation
- Comfortable handling a varied caseload with clinical autonomy
