An exciting opportunity to join the team at Richard Ticehurst SAU.
The Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) is a 30‑bed mixed‑sex general surgical ward that accepts elective and emergency patients. We also take direct referrals from G.P.'s and Paramedics. You will support trained nurses in delivering patient care. The SAU works alongside an ambulatory clinic (SACC) that you may have to help cover, working a 9–5 shift on occasion.
Responsibilities
- Undertake assessment of admissions as allocated by the nurse in charge.
- Work independently within the clearly defined boundaries of the Registered Nursing Associate competencies and scope of practice.
- Work with Registered Practitioners in the provision of nursing care for patients in the Surgical Assessment Unit.
- Carry out clinical tasks through admission to discharge in a safe, effective manner.
- Assist with mobilisation of the SACC clinic as needed.
